Becoming a part of Pink Ribbon Day is easy, and we were truly amazed at the lengths some members of the community went to this year!
Pink Racing Stripes
Spectators at the Gold Coast Indy in October were in for a surprise, when a bright pink race car pulled up to the starting grid for the ARC circuit. AFM and driver Aaron Fitzgerald painted the team’s Ford Falcon pink for the event, helping to raise awareness of Cancer Council’s work. The little pink pocket rocket was a huge success, winning the hearts of many race fans up and down the coast!
Big bikes, big blokes and...pink t-shirts!
Proving that pink is a cause closes to everyone’s hearts were members of the NT Patriots Motorcycle Club, who proudly ditched the usual black leathers in favour of pink t-shirts as they set off on a 50km Pink Ribbon Bike Ride from Berrimah to Nightcliff. The ride was in honour of Pink Ribbon Day, with many passengers breast cancer survivors. Top effort fellas!
Pink ladies on the prowl
It was a site to behold on Monday, 27th October or in NSW, Friday 24th October, as thousands of volunteers took to the streets to sell Pink Ribbon Day merchandise.
From pink t-shirts, to fairy wings to feather boas our volunteers made sure that no-one could miss them!
But don’t worry, there are many ways you can get involved for 2009. From the smallest to the most outrageous we’re grateful to all of our wonderful supporters.
