The time of diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer is a very difficult one for most women. Cancer Council provides confidential support and assistance to women with breast cancer and their families and friends.
One of our most important support tools is the Cancer Council Helpline – a free and confidential support service run by the Cancer Councils in each state and territory.
Anyone can call for information and advice on cancer and speak with specifically trained staff who are available to answer questions about cancer and offer emotional and practical support. Just call 13 11 20. It is a local call cost from anywhere in Australia.
The Cancer Council Helpline is open between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Some states may have extended hours, health professionals on staff, or even multilingual services.
Cancer Council also runs a vast network of cancer support groups, services and programs for anyone affected by cancer. Find out more about our support services.
